How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you in the following ways:

You give us information directly by making an user account and posting links and commenting

When you create a Newspek account, you provide us with personal information, such as your name, username, password and email address. On Newspek, your name and username may be listed publicly when you share content, and you can use either your real name or a pseudonym.

Newspek is designed to help you and all the other users share information. Most of the information you provide us through Newspek is information you are asking us to make public. Therefore we have information about the topics and links you have shared and comments you have made.

Cookies: We use Google Analytics to get data about how people use the service. That data is not shared with anyone else and we are looking into making it anonymous. Apart from that we use only one cookie: it lets us know if you have previously visited the site.

Information about use of Newspek: We receive information when you use Newspek. The information we collect is your followed topics, created topics, posted links and recommended articles. That information is connected to your user profile.

How long is your information kept for?

Information is needed to provide you with the Newspek service. If you should want to delete your account We keep your information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes it was collected for. We review our retention periods on a regular basis.

Who has access to your information?

We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Service Providers: We use the third-party service provided by Microsoft Azure to help us provide our website and mobile application. We also use Google Analytics to help us understand and improve the use of our Services.

We disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the services and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and prevents them from using it for their own direct marketing purposes.
